The Brockley Cross Action Group has provided the ideas and public support, beginning with the planting of the flower beds. Now, after much planning and deliberation, the major improvement works are going ahead thanks to the cooperation and investment of the council, government, Network Rail, Southern Railway, TfL and the Action Group.
Andrew Munden, Network Rail’s Kent Route Director, said: “It is important to provide facilities which make rail use easier, safer and more accessible for everyone. The installation of the ramp will bring significant benefits to station users and we are pleased the Government has already identified Brockley station for further accessibility improvements in the future. These will be delivered by Network Rail under the Department for Transport’s Access for All scheme between 2012 and 2015."
