I recently met with Chief Superintendent Jeremy Burton, Lewisham’s new Police Borough Commander. We spoke about his impressions of the area and his plans for the future, as well as some particular areas of concern.
In talking to residents I know that our Safer Neighbourhood Teams have a very good reputation locally and the reputation of the police has certainly improved over the years, however I do still receive the occasional complaint about aspects of policing from constituents and I will always take those up with the appropriate authority.
I asked for particular attention to be paid to anti-social behaviour around Deptford High Street and for closer attention to be paid to the areas around New Cross and New Cross Gate Station. We also discussed the Milton Court area.
