
![]() Today I am reaffirming my commitment to Surrey Canal Road Station. I have received a letter from the Transport Minister, Theresa Villiers MP, refusing the £7 million Department for Transport contribution that had previously been on the table.
![]() Today I - along with representatives from Transport for London and Lewisham Council - met with Theresa Villiers MP (Minister of State for Transport) to put forward the case for Surrey Canal Road Station. ![]() The campaign to get a station built on the East London Line Extension Phase 2 at Surrey Canal Road got another chance today when I persuaded the new Transport Minister, Teresa Villiers to meet with me to discuss the plans. ![]() I was pleased to be on hand to welcome the first East London Line train into New Cross station on Tuesday. The ‘preview’ service will be running between Dalston Junction and New Cross and New Cross Gate stations from 0700 – 2000, Mondays to Fridays ![]() Today I have secured the promise of £7 million from the Department for Transport for the station at Surrey Canal Road on the East London Line. ![]() Today I am welcoming the go-ahead of phase two of the East London Line. The scheme will link Surrey Quays on the East London Line extension to Clapham Junction, providing direct links to the City and Docklands. ![]() On 26 October I hosted a meeting with local stakeholders Network Rail, Southeastern Trains and Transport for London regarding the South London Route Utilisation Strategy (RUS). I have been assured that all of the concerns raised during the meeting will be included in the consultation, which has now closed. |
