This weekend I attended an African dance workshop at the IRIE! Dance Theatre Family Learning Open Weekend (FLOW), which was held at the Moonshot Centre in New Cross. There were workshops and events going on throughout the centre and it was clear that all the participants were having a great time.
I was invited to visit the archaeological dig being carried out at the Convoys Wharf site. A range of industrial archaeology has been found on site and experts are currently assessing the best way to preserve it for the future.
Today I attended the Afghanistan and Central Asian Association's International Women’s Day Celebration, where I answered a range of questions on everything from my work on climate change and equalities to my experiences in Afghanistan.
As part of their Citizenship classes, students from Addey and Stanhope School have been interviewing me about my political beliefs and asking why I will be standing for re-election at the forthcoming General Election.
