In January 2013 I announced my intention to stand down at the next general election.
Last Saturday (18th May) Brockley councillor Vicky Foxcroft was selected as Lewisham Deptford Labour Party's Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for 2015, from a shortlist of 6 in an all women contest.
I'm delighted that Vicky has been selected as our next Labour parliamentary candidate. She has proved herself as a very able campaigner and effective councillor and I wish her all the best in her new role.
