"All disputes end around the negotiating table and this one will be no different, so it is right that reconciliation talks are to begin next week.
"Ministers must now give these negotiations their full attention."
![]() Maria Eagle MP, Labour’s Shadow Transport Secretary, responding to the news that there will be no strike over Easter by fuel tanker drivers and talks will begin next week, said: "All disputes end around the negotiating table and this one will be no different, so it is right that reconciliation talks are to begin next week. "What is now clear is that the panic and chaos caused by the Government was completely unnecessary. Instead of spending their time giving people contradictory and at times dangerous advice on filling up and stockpiling fuel when no strike had been announced, Ministers should have been working to get both sides together to secure a resolution.
